Brand Refresh
At Direct Recruitment, they don’t cut corners. They’ll take the time to get to know you, listen carefully to your experience and requirements, and go the extra mile to make sure candidates are matched up with exactly the right role.
They have long standing expertise and connections in recruiting talents for digital, direct and integrated marketing jobs but their website and social media didn’t reflect their brand anymore.
That’s why we embarked on a journey of brand strategy where we looked at their shifted goals, brand personality, positioning and competitors. From that strategy onward, I developed a new website design integrating the user journey and profiles as well as updating social media and marketing materials.

Brand Attributes

The existing tone was encouraging and friendly but it stood in direct contrast to their more corporate style and outdated imaging.
The new brand image also seeks a dynamic feel.
Logo

Direct Recruitment wanted to keep the star as their main element.
The old logo had the text split with a pointy sharp star in the middle. In the strategy session, the desire was to break away from this corporate image together with grey imaging and instead evoke a friendly, dynamic and welcoming feel.
I have therefore rounded the star and put in on a dark circle so it stands out more. It’s iconic on its own when used as a logomark or favicon.
The name in itself is quite long. I tried several horizontal and vertical mockups. In the end, the feeling of being modern and dynamic yet reassuring looked best with a rounded typeface in a 2 liner and separated by a structural line.

Wireframes with the new web design design in mind with the developers.
The old pages contained a lot of copy and blogs had no images. The client and candidate page used to be together on one page which have now their separate pages with individual CTA’s.
I reduced the hamburger navigation menu from 12 menu references to seven key menu pages for a quicker reference for the user.

Icon Design

Direct Recruitment wanted to show their expertise in categories e.g. Account Handling or Strategy & Planning. In order to make these easily visible and break up any text on the website, I created custom icons. They are in branded colours in a minimalist style.

To keep the brand consistent, all their social media channels have been updated with a new banner cover and logo. I have also supplied them with post and story templates in Canva so that they are able to quickly choose a template and edit the content. Ebooks for onboarding a candidate or client have been updated to the brand style as well.
Brand Style Guide

Direct Recruitment received a brand style guide together with their logo and pattern files. This is to help them how best to present their brand in a consistent way.
